Search and Filters
Finding something quickly keeps the app lean. This lesson focuses on the Search tab and the filters that refine results.
- Use the global search bar: Type a vehicle name, category, cost, or note keyword. Suggestions appear as you type, pulling matching vehicles, entries, and reminders to the surface.
- Inspect results across tabs: Swipe through the modal to see whether the match is a vehicle, expense, or notification. Tap a result to open it directly in the correct tab.
- Apply filters to keep views focused: In the search results, use the filter button to limit the time range, vehicle set, or category. Filter states persist so you can run repeat searches with the same constraints.
- Combine search + filters: Start with a broad term (like “fuel”) then narrow by selecting the Fuel category or a single vehicle. The combination of text queries and filters exposes exactly the entry you need.
Mastering search and filtering makes every other tab more navigable because you can jump straight to the data you care about.
